About Me

Sam is a New Zealand-based Travel and Landscape photographer. He has gained international recognition for his work that compiles astro-photography, travel footage and South Island landscapes, show casing the best New Zealand has to offer.

In the past year, Sam has gone from picking up a DSLR camera for the first time, to being featured by National Geographic Travel, winning the National Geographic Daily Dozen and having work shared to millions across the globe. His unique approach to capturing natural beauty has resulted in an online fanbase of over 44,000 people. Along with ever-growing mainstream media attention.

Sam specialises in working with businesses on integrated marketing campaigns and content creation roles that promote specific products, brands or destinations.

Sam has worked on projects with tourism boards, technology companies, advertising agencies and outdoor brands. Including Samsung, Nikon, Rodd & Gunn, Venture Southland, Syrp Limited, Massey University, MacPac & GoPro.


Sam's latest freelance project was a film called 'Winter 4K' alongside Nikon, showcasing the beauty of the South Island in New Zealand - compiled of motion controlled time-lapse sequences and astrophotography.

Social media continues to play a significant role in the development of Sam's work and is one of his passions, being a prominent user of Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and Twitter.

Sam was born and raised in Invercargill and now is based in Dunedin, New Zealand.
